moshcam on my uk bdp-s370 has never produced video output, only audio, but when you stop it shows a single frame. It's always been up to date, no update has ever fixed this. I'm using composite out, and that is properly selected in the screen settings menu. I've seen threads from various folk around the globe with this same problem, but no answers... anyone got any suggestions?
cheers

Hi
Some video partners have disabled output via composite as their license agreements with the rights holders only permit secured digital connections basically HDMI, not analogue connections..
Are you able to switch to HDMI instead of composite, as this will likely fix it.
Thanks
Hi - thanks for replying. I don't have hdmi, just a nice big CRT tv. so I guess that's that.
It's composite only in my house (actually I don't know anyone in my village who uses any hdmi)...
I'll have a word with the folks at moshcam.
is there a possibility of setting the machine to output everything at 480i (as it's only feeding an SD telly) and would the HDCP (or whatever prevention thing moshcam uses) at that point relax and allow the composite output?
Hi there,
To be entirely honest, we've never been given any information by Sony to suggest our videos won't play on a Composite connection, but it may well be as Catmambo suggests and that it requires an HDMi connection. It is, after all, content that is licensed by the artists and their labels for us to film and stream. Beyond that I really cannot speculate, although we have asked Sony for clarification and I'll report back as soon as we hear anything.
Either way, it's ultimately a Sony delivery parameter and unfortunately we have no control over it our end. Also, our content is encoded at 480i for non-HD TVs so that shouldn't be causing you any issues either.
Hope you get it resolved soon and can enjoy the gigs!
