Hi,

get yourself a digital coaxial cable and connect the blu ray to the theater kit, leave the HDMI cable where it is, then in the menu of the blu ray player go to audio settings, scroll down to dolby digital (coaxial/optical) and set to dolby digital then set DTS to DTS and that should do it, dont know why you would think the optical connector at the blu ray is jack point, it should be the same as the theater kit.

if still unsure get the coaxial cable like the ones below.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Crystal-Audio-CAD-DIGITAL-low-jitter-audiophile/dp/B004IO4IT8/ref=sr_1_39?ie...

or better still this one.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Qed-I-QEDPDA-1-Performance-Digital-Coaxial/dp/B002GX0A8Q/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8...

its a little shorter but there are longer ones.
