Hi everyone. This weekend (18/19th June) the radio programmes on my i-player have been 'unavailable'.
Has anyone else had this problem? Iplayer loads as usual and the TV programmes play ok, The programme lists for the radio load as usual but when any programme is selected to play, a message comes up with 'This programme is unavailable'.
I've tried radio 2, 4 and 4 extra with programmes which were originally broadcast Saturday, Friday and Wednesday.
Many thanks.
Hello
Likewise I notice this problem - as far as I remember it was working fine on the 13th June.
The symtom is that all programs get the message episode is unavailable
Any ideas welcome
Yup, exactly the same problem on all three of our BDP S380 players, and same timing, immediately after the recent Sony software update. BBC Radio streams fine on laptops, so it must be a Sony software glitch. Could SONY please let us all know what is being done about this, urgently.

Have now received BBC email saying that they are aware of this problem and are currently working to resolve it and advise to keep trying on a daily basis until system appears OK. Quite positive for BEEB.
BDP-S480 - first setup on 21st of June - I noticed it did a system update when I switched it on. i-player TV side seems to work pretty well (This was after re-enabling Java in the Internet Browser because it was warning me of instability issues - why this can't be be explained in the manual I don't know).
Yep so no iplayer radio - listings but when you click on one it says its currently unavalable and it's Glastonbury this weekend
Just like to also mention quality control - ok I know its not in the realms of the QS series products but the GUI interface is not the slickest - 'clunky'.
The player - is not the quietest - sounds like a old PC cdrom seeking - (thats with out a disc in it)
Blu ray splash page - you can see stepped/ pixilated/ tonal graduation (not the nicest welcome screen)
Internet Browser - 2 second delay when using buttons on remote it plays catch up.
Menu button - watching or listening to anything is terminated as soon as you try to browse with the menu button.
Eject Disc - also stops what ever you are in, you don't have to be watching something from disc.
Music sites - 3 out of the 5 on offer are not available in my region (UK) - one of them is a Australian Music site? why can't you just enter the URL's from Internet radio stations.
Digital display (front display) - Useless information - Welcome/ See you later/Network/ T 1 ?
Very limited information in the manual regarding hosted sites and for that matter general Internet error/warning messages i.e 'do you want to disable Java?' - not everybody is going to know what that's about.:smileyconfused:
Main reason for buying - On Demand - reduce need to boot up a PC.
Setup; Sony STR-DA3300ES (Amp), Sony KDL-40W4500 (TV), Sony RDR HX710 (DVD/HDD) - older products with far better/smoother GUI's.
ok panic over - i-player (radio) is online again - checked it a 1.30pm you sould be able to click on a listing and listen to it - tried it on a number of shows from yesterdays BBC2 radio 2 day and a selection things from BBC Radio 4.
Tidy.:smileywink:
Just need to sort out all the other gripes listed above in updates without disrupting the service although I do appreciate that the i-player radio thing was a BBC issue.
Yep, all OK now. I really do think that BBC/SONY have our best interests at heart, just that IT life now offers so much complicated software these days, on so many devices, the odd blip or two is bound to happen.
Hi mjgsony
Thanks for contacting BBC. Yes everything is back to normal now.
Be good if they got Channel 4 and ITV player as well - but that's another thread lol!
