BDV-E 280 SPEAKER CABLE.  Can I safely centrally cut and insert an extra piece to a speaker cable?

this has been asked before on here, and theres no reason why you cant, make sure you get the right gauge cable and insert a new piece either by soldering or twisting (not as good), and taping the joins with ptfe tape, be sure also to check the wire with the stripe is on the same one as the original.
