Hi all,
I have just purchased the BDV N590. I would like to use an external hard drive, but it seemed to failing for some reason.
When I plug the drive in, it is recognised and for about 30 seconds I can see the folders etc pop up in the menu for the USB device. Then the power seems to be cut (maybe the player is rebooting...? I saw a similar issue in another discussion). The player immediately comes back up in "TV" mode and is pretty unresponsive until I turn it off and on again.
has anyone seen anything like this or know what might be causing it?
Thanks,
James
Hi there.
Is that a blank USB HDD with no files on it, or does it have files already stored on it?
If by any chance that the HDD already has files stored, I would like to point you to page 52 of the manual.
"• The system can recognize the following files or folders in BDs, DVDs, CDs and USB devices:
– up to folders in the 9th layer, including the root folder
– up to 500 files/folders in a single layer"
When I copied a large amount of files to my PVR (HDT500), the PVR went spasitic (sorry, mentally challenged), until i rebooted. I then realised that it only supported 999 files/folders
Hope that helps
