I have recently purchased a BDP-S570 player and am experiencing an issue with video playback. I bought a Lexar 8Gb memory stick for use with the player. The player recognises and plays AVI files from the memory stick but the video pauses briefly every 8-10 seconds. It's only a very brief pause, and the audio continues OK, but it's very annoying.
I've tried a different memory stick and it does the same.
I've tried both memory sticks in a £20 Sumvision media player device and the video plays perfectly, so I know it's not the video files per se.
GSpot reports the video encoding as xvid, and the audio as ac3.
Is it possible that the unit is defective? Is there anything else I can try, to aid diagnosis?

I have exactly the same problem with my brand new BDP-S570, playing MOD videos from my FAT32 USB hard disk (those are MP4 videos, taken by Canon SD Camcorder)...
My TV can even play 1920x1080 full HD videos from that hard disk, so it is not the fault of the hard disk.
