BDP-S380 download of updates via memory stick?

Pls advise whether it will be safe/work to update firmware using a memory stick. Sorry, can't find anything on using the sticks.  Have tried updating version with network both via wireless and wired (connecting the ethernet cable) but both took an age, got to 2/9 and then still said server interrupted - after several attempts.  I saw on guide that burning a cd is an option, but as unsure whether I can actually do this, would rather use the stick if possible - no mention?  Am currently downloading the file in hope that answer is yes 🙂

you had it the best way the first time, downloading via internet connection is the best way and easier, unfortunately burning to disc is not as simple as it looks, (it should be) if you know how to finalise a disc and all that then its fine, the other way with the flash drive works ok too, you download it to the drive and plug it in and the update should run.

if you have set up yuor player to the internet properly the updates will come up on the screen and it will ask if you want them, when you click on it hatever you do dont touch the remote or the player during the update process, yes it takes a while and it will appear to turn the player on and off, just leave it alone till its done and you will be fine.
