BDP S380 24p output

This player has two options for 24p in the menu, Auto and OFF.

Auto doesn't work and 24p films play back at 60p, with horrible judder.

How can I turn 24p on.

It sounds to me a tho your tv in't 24fps compatable, Im not 100% sure but I think 24fps auto only works with 1080p tv's as well

mancsteveuk,

hi and welcome to the forum,

yes i believe you are correct, i forgot to ask about the tv, not all tv's are 24fps compatable and without further information from the poster that is most likely the problem!,

cheers.

MY TV is Sony KDL-40EX403, and is says it supports 24P in the manual.

I had this same problem with the sony S350. The difference is on that player you had the option to force 24P to 'ON'  as well as AUTO and OFF options.

With my new Sony S380, the AUTO option doesn't work with me, and for some unknown reason Sony has removed the 'ON' option with this new player.

This also effects all films that run in 24P played via USB port. If I have a bluray  or MKV on my hard drive connected to the USB that should run at 24P, on the S380 it plays it back at 1080P60, with the horrible judder.

This is a really terrible bug that ruins watching films, especially on the USB port, as the manual says should work.

Can this be forwarded to Sony, to the right people, so they can put the 'ON' switch for 24P back in a firmware update and also fix 24P with films played back via the USB port.

Hi

Do make sure you have the latest firmware, then run a factory reset on both devices ( details in the FAQ sticky)

If its still not working then, drop the call centre a line and raise a call, so they can investigate further and escalate if appropriate..

Thanks
