Hi,
I have a BDP-S370 that has been happily connecting to my Buffalo Linkstation Pro and playing both MP3's and VOB files with no problems.
There was an auto update to the 370 and now I can still see all the files I had before the update but cannot see any new ones. I have rebuilt the NAS share and reset the 370 settings. I can still see all files including new ones on my PS3, laptop and Xbox.
Due to the above I think the 370 is the problem. Is there anyway of rolling back the firmware?
Many Thanks
Will.
Hi, I have a closely related problem : since the last automatic update I can no longer read MKV files.
Any mkv or just some? Can you open a case with the call centre and engineering can look into it. No reason why the this shouldn't be working.
Have you tried doing a full factory reset, just to clear all the settings etc in case something is glitching..
Thanks
Hi,
I have completed a full reset and even re-shared my NAS with a new share name.
I spoke to Sony and they suggested to copy a supported file (ie not a VOB file) into the shared area of my NAS to see if the S370 will see it. Unfortunately it doesn't. I'm not sure if I have hit a max file amount or even max folder size. I converted one of the VOB files into a MKV file and copied it to a pen drive. The S370 could see and play this correctly.
I am runn out of ideas on this one.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks
Will.

Have you tested using a DLNA server like serviio on the PC, just to see if that works?
Hi Ya,
I only have a Buffalo Link Station running at the mo. Before the last update everything was working fine. I could add files from my lappy to the shared folder and in turn see them via the s370, and all of them played. Now I can copy the files to the shared area they all appear to be fine viewing them from my laptop and my PS3 but the s370 doesn't see they are there.
Many Thanks
Will.
Ok, so try and see if you sharing via your PC works. It may well be there is some kind of conflict between the NAS and the Blu-ray player..
Thanks
Hi, I can read only the MKV files that I had stored before the BDP S370 last updates. The unreadable files can however be read after transcoding by my PS3 server linked to my Sony Bravia TV its DLNA network.
Hi All
The DNLA side of the player will see only what is being broadcast in the correct format, MKV is a folder and there are many codecs and file types that can be used in this structure, it could be the new files have changed in some way that is no longer supported by the player, open the files on a program like VLC and request the properties of the files it will provide the audio and video codecs used, there has to be a reason. If the player can see and play a file on the network, the player is not faulty, the fault has to be in the data being provided. hope this helps.
Hi,
I have downloaded VLC and compared 2 VOB files, both have exactly the same codecs and properties. One of the files (before the firmware upgrade) I can see and play no problem. The second file copied onto the NAS after the upgrade I cannot see, but still my laptop and PS3 see fine and play fine. I also went to the DIVX site as per the link on the unit for DIVX registration, from there I downloaded their conversion software and converted a copy of one of the files that the unit can see. The new converted file could not bee seen once added to the NAS, but again could be seen by both my laptop and PS3.
Any Ideas?
Many Thanks
Will.
