I've had this Blu-Ray since the end of December/start of January, and the internet on it has always worked. Tonight, can't sleep, figure I'll go watch LoveFilm through the blu-ray, as I often do and to my despair the connection will not work and I'm met with this message:
"A network error has occurred".
Now just before this I had problems where it would run on for ages looking for the internet connection, then it would tell me that the service couldn't be provided, and it gave me a reference code of 300. (Not that I can find this ANYWHERE I have looked).
The thing is, the connection is fine...obviously since I'm running this from the internet, I have a connection, and looking up the network settings on the blu-ray brings up that everything is fine, I've tried re-setting it, etc, turning it off, on, and I just keep getting this error. Been trying for hours now to no avail.
I also had to create a new account to post this because I cannot seem to use my proper sony account where the items are registered on (oddly enough although I registered this username to try and email them, it tells me when I attempt to log in with this NEW account that it doesn't exist/password is wrong and that I'm going to be deactivated!).
Would really like to know what's going on and if anyone has any information or fixes here as to what I can do without needing to phone their 50p a minute lines (as I'm a social phobic, I can't do this anyway as talking on the phone causes me to take panic attacks).
Hopefully someone out there knows how to help or has a solution.
Hi there.
I had the same problem last night trying to access bbc/channel 5/youtube services. Error reference was 300, and in system settings it said Provisioning Server has failed. Just checked again and it says Provisioning Server has succeeded. That's without me changing any settings or doing anything. So it's safe to say the problem was at Sony's end of things and they've now corrected it. I checked BBC/CH5/Youtube, all working fine again.
Suggest you switch off and back on and see if its working properly now.
