I went to use BD Live with the Casino Royale BD. It loaded (eventually!) and then I decided to stream a preview in SD.
Attempt 1: Crashes while loading the preview with some error about the memory stick not responding. I check the memory stick in a PC, and then re-install it on the player.
Attempt 2: Starts to load the movie and then the screen goes blank. Nothing. The entire unit has to be turned off at the mains. No controls respond.
Attempt 3: BDLIve refuses to load crashing with a purple screen and the BDLive symbol frozen. The entire unit has to be turned off at the mains. No controls respond.
Why the hell don't Sony test these things?
Can someone offer some advice on this please?
Hi, I would first of check what firmware version you have, there have been many changes to the firmware since launch to resolve changes in the BD-live and Java engines. If you have the latest firmware try a factory reset, if the issue persists we can only advise you have the unit inspected as there are no known issues with this BD and player.
I have done a factory reset on 'all settings'
My firmware is the latest firmware update. M04.R.756.
The unit continues to crash on both iPlayer and BDLive.
The unit is under guarantee and will be reported to the seller.
