Hello.
I have just noticed that the boards spell checker capability is not working.
Admins, would you like to know why it's not working, so that you can fix it?
I await your reply...

Hi iWilliams
Here's a screen grab from FF.
It maybe an obvious question but are you remembering to hit the ABC button to switch the function on? The spellchecker doesn't automatically check your spelling as you type, as with some other programs.
Regards,
Pete
Hi @Pete_B and @iWilliams
Just in case it helps, I have managed to fix the problem I was having in Firefox.
Clicking the ABC button never worked for me so instead I
typed a sentence and then highlighted the text before clicking the ABC button.
Initially the screen greyed out and a popup box appeared showing 'Spellcheck Request error: 0'
and it then reloaded the text box. I tried it again and it works now
Hello jumpsuit.
Thanks for the welcoming words. I'm glad to be here.
Seeing as Admin don't want to respond, I'm going to say why, for the good of the other community members.
<body id="tinymce" class="mce-content-body lia-message-editor" data-id="tinyMceEditor" spellcheck="false" contenteditable="true"><p>Hello jumpsuit.<br data-mce-bogus="1"></p><p><br data-mce-bogus="1"></p><p>Thanks for the welcoming words. I'm glad to be here.<br data-mce-bogus="1"></p><p><br data-mce-bogus="1"></p><p><br data-mce-bogus="1"></p></body>
See the problem?
Hiya
Thanks.
Is it like one of those pictures made up from dots that you're meant to see?
I'm guessing its a tinymce problem of some sort.
I can relay it back to the powers-that-be for you to see what they say
Hi jumpy.
Yes, TinyMCE is the problem. It needs updating and the Admin needs to set the spellcheck funcionalty of the board to: Browser
Please forward it to Admin, as it must be a pain having no spellcheck on the board...
Thnaks!
Hi again
LOL @ Thnaks!
Message forwarded for you
Thanks once again for the 'ipnut'!
It's not the spell checker, it's the damn predictive text on my iPhone !
Hi Jonnie1266.
I believe that the inclusion of spellcheck="false" will override the ability to use any spellcheck capability.
Or, I maybe wrong...LOL
Thnaks!
Hi @iWilliams
I've just received confirmation that the spell check is working for others
(across various browsers.)
They are wondering if its something in your browser config that may be causing it?
Hi jumpsuit.
Thnaks for getting back to me on this, much appreciated.
I can assure you that my browsers spellcheck functionality is working as it should.
See attached pic.
Is the spellchecker working for you?
It would be interesting to know if other board members are experiencing issues with this, but I don't know how to contact them to ask. Can you help with this at all, or must we just wait until other members find this post and chime in?
Thanks again, interesting!
