For many photographers, shooting RAW is essential to how they work. With more image data than other formats, it lets them shoot at the highest possible quality while also giving them more freedom and editing power through RAW converter software.

There’s certainly no shortage of RAW converters available, but Capture One is without doubt one of the best. With an intuitive user interface and easy-to-use editing tools, it’s no wonder that the best photographers rely upon it on a daily basis. We personally love it so much we decided to team up with Phase One, the company behind the software, to create an exclusive version of Capture One for Sony camera users.

Capture One Express (for Sony) stays true to the interface that existing users will be familiar with, but it’s been designed strictly with the Sony photographer in mind.

There are tailor-made profiles for an array of Sony cameras, an accurate colour editor that makes it easy to apply even the subtlest of changes to your photos, and simple tools for black-and-white conversion and High Dynamic Range photos.

The best part of all? If you’re a Sony customer, you can download and use Capture One Express (for Sony) for absolutely free. All you need to do is head to the link below and follow the instructions to download the software. Once installed on your computer, you’ll be asked which version of the software you want to install; choose Capture One Express (for Sony) and it’ll be free to use - forever.

What’s more, you can always upgrade to Capture One Pro (for Sony) if you so wish: you’ll get access to a bunch of extra features including Live-View tethering*, and it will cost just €50 instead of the usual €279.

So it's only free for 30 days (and it only says that on the next page in the small print)

I will pass. If it's NOT FREE DONT SAY IT IS

Hi @rsebre

"Download the latest version of Capture One 9 (for Sony) for Windows.

The download contains a free 30-day trial with all features unlocked. After the trial you can continue using all pro features by upgrading to Capture One Pro 9 (for Sony)."

The "Capture One 9 (for Sony)" is actually free, its teh "Capture One Pro 9 (for Sony)" is not.  So the non-pro version is free.

Cheers

@Anonymous I was excited when I first saw this mentioned in the Community newsletter. Then after getting past all the the features, and to downloading, that's when I found it's not free.

It looks like I will have to carry on using Adobe Software for RAW files. Good to hear from you again my friend. Hope all is well.

Those Earhpones MDR-1000 (£289.99) Do look epic aswell.

Keep up the good work, a catch you again.

@Imperialeagles
Hi, Sorry only just now saw your question. You don't have to have any code for the free version. Just use the trial version and it will convert to the free version after the trial period has ended.

Given this has been retracted by phaseone, this needs deletion alongside all documentation indicating the software is provided - at this point it's false advertising throughout Sony's site.
