PlayMemories uploads but no photo present in gallery

I am trying to use WiFi to send photos to my HTC Wildfire-s from a DSC-WX200. I have downloaded Version 3.0.1 of the app from Google play. It connects fine, and a the message "contents copied" and a copy of the photo is shown on the smartphone but then it does not appear in the gallery. On one occasion, rebooting the phone has restored the photo to the gallery but not always.

Can anyone suggest a solution (apart from getting a new smarphone) as I'd like to use this feature when I go on holiday soon.

Odd - I just got it to work once by running the Camera send to Wifi before starting the app. Then 2 copies of the photo appeared in the folder. When I ran it again with a new photo though, it didn't work again. All very odd.
