How to transfer photos to laptop sony G

I’m asking about transferring photos from the camera to a laptop for my brother in law?

If he connects the  camera to laptop  will the laptop then show a folder for him to click on or does he need to do something to the camera first. Im in the UK and he is in Canada. Thanks

Hi Mrs_Ch7,

Basically you don't have to send the whole camera. Just take out the memory card and send it to him.

Pictures are stored in a folder called DCIM and then, depending on your cameras settings, in another sub-folder.

hi, thank you for the reply. My brother in law has the camera in Canada and I’ve been trying to help him get the photos off the camera onto a laptop. (He’s not very computer literate).
I’ll try and download the manual later, but will tell him about the folder.
