Help! My DSC HX60 is showing the following error message when turned on. 'Turn the power off and then on' I have done this until my finger turned numb with the same repetitive result. I have managed to get into the menu (don't ask how...it just happened by desperate stabbing) and have reset the camera. Same result.
Any ideas anyone before I set fire to it? I'm on holiday in 5 days and could do with a fix. The Sony 'helpsite' advises turning the power off and on. Thanks a lot Sony.
Hello @H0lstein,
maybe the lens is blocked by dirt?

What sense would that make? Send it in for repair.
For your vacation this camera probably won't be of any use anyways, so I would recommend to not spent any time trying to fix it, since this time will probably be wasted effort.
Either
a. use your phone as camera - images won't be as good and you can't zoom in that far but at least you have some images to show your friends/relatives
b. get another camera if you have the money for it
c. see if you can lend a camera from someone else oat your hotel/cruise ship and use your own memory card while you're there - then take the card out on your last day and give the camera back to the owner.
