DSC-HX50 Why doesn't the UK version have GPS?

I understand that there are two versions of this camera. I love the 30x optical zoom and would like to buy one.

I have a DSC-HX5V at the moment and that has GPS which is realy great when travelling.

The DSC-HX50V has gps. Why can't we but it in the UK? Why does Sony sell a lower spec to the UK?:smileyangry:

Come on Sony, surely it's easier to just make one model and allow us to buy the GPS version?
