charging an HX-50

Can any USB charger be used?

I am off on holiday and really don't want to carry several chargers around!

Would my Xperia Z1 charger be ok to charge the HX-50  too?

In theory any USB charger should work.  Try it before you leave.

while you would think all usb chargers were the same (or there wouldnt have been that push that Apple disagreed with to standise) the power rating seems to be different from one charger to another!
