Hi all,
I'm considering buying the Sony Handycam HDR-CX240 for streaming purposes (specifically using an Elgato Cam Link capturing device) and i'm wondering if it's compatible with it. I'm guessing the issue is that the camcorder has to have a clean hdmi output that is non-hdcp.
Other questions i have:
1-Can it give hdmi output on standby mode? or is the hdmi output only usable when recording?
2-is there an auto shut down function on standby mode? (i want to know if the device will shut down if i leave it on standby mode for a certain period of time while capturing).
3-Can i record while the camcorder is plugged in (being charged)?
I'd be very grateful if you guys can help me out with this as i couldn't find any info and i'm very new at this stuff. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I'm sorry , I cannot help you I have not tried it on this Elgato Cam Link . sorry.
Hello @andy_from_sligo,
it would be sufficient to just connect the camcorder to your TV via HDMI and tell @burakcimci whether or not the HDMI-output has any overlay or not.
