YouTube HDR... finally
YouTube HDR content is finally available!
You will find a playlist here. However, these clips will be played as SDR on Sonys for now.
With youtube-dl you can find vp9.2 encodings for those clips:

Those are webm however which the native Video app won't play.
We will see whether we will get support for it soon, even for the early 2016 models with the old MediaTek SoC from last year. At least Sony promised that back at CES:

I just updated my review on YouTube 2.0 and the YouTube 2.0/Chromecast issues in my bugtracker.

I'm just reading you bug tracker and I noticed something. As you said the sleep/deep sleep periods are a little bit of mess. I've measured the consumption of my xd83 in idle with a power meter. It takes time to put itself into deep sleep, until that time it's runnings on 12-13W otherwise 0.5W. it wakes itself up frequently giving the result of 20W in total in 14 hours period. Which means 1.5W per hour. Not that bad, still it is 300% of the advertised 0.5W...
Anyway, I just rather keep the TV unplugged when it's not in use 😁

Statistics don't work anymore for me. Do they have to hide something?

The description in Google Play says that "brand accounts" (multiple channels login) still aren't supported, but in reality they are fixed, now. Fully working!

Yup. Same here. But it's also true that just after installing the update I couldn't watch a single video. I went for dinner and then it was working. So I imagine it is something that can be fixed in the servers.
Apart that I think there is something wrong with the UI. The remote control seems slower. And right now it just hanged/froze. I had to take out the batteries and put them back.
Also HDR is still not working!! But I am quite sure Mediatek messed up with the Profile VP9.2 Codecs/APIs at this point. Again!

I don't see this anywhere. No update on my TV available?

How much of wrong/bad can they still inflict into this app?
This is beyond me

Oh... He's back..
Are you disappointed because now that 4K and the Brand Accounts/Channel Switching are finally all fixed you'll have to mourn the 1.3.11 piece of junk (R.I.P.)?
