My picture has just started to "pulse" from clear to slightly fuzzy, holding on each pulse for about 3 seconds. Can anybody offer a suggestion to cure this. I have tried the three suggestions offered on the Sony site, so now need more help.
Hey there, try the below:
1- Disconnect any external devices connected to the TV.
2- Unplug the main power cord of the TV, and plug it back after 60 seconds.
3- Check if your TV has the latest software version: PKG6.7210 (Help - Status and Diagnostics - System Information):
https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/lcd-tvs-android-xd83xx_x83xxd-series/kd-49xd8305/software...
If not the latest, please find the below link to update the TV:
4- Clear the cached data from the TV internal shared storage following the below steps:
(Home - Settings - Device Preferences - Storage - Internal Shared Storage - Cached Data - Clear).
5- Perform factory reset following the below:

I have done all that you suggeted with no chabge. Even the "SONY" basic start screen throbs / pulses. I guess I have a part that has failed. Thanks for your input.
Hi,
I am delighted to say that this morning my TV has returned to normal (after several weeks of pulsing fuzzy pictures).
Many thanks to my helper, I am sure this was the prime cause of rectification.
thank you
I regret that the TV has started pulsing again, however upon repeating the previous exercises, I found that
HOME / settings / device preferences / reset / factory reset - did no longer have sub screens, but instead just bumped me straight back to the HOME menu. I have manged a reset by unplugging from the mains, holding in the 3 button switch on the back, replugging and then releasing the switch when the data clearance message arrived, followed by the tedious set up procedure ! This time there is no change to the pulsing screen. Help!
