"No [Digital/Aerial] Channels Found" on KDL-42W805A and f/w 4.6

My Mum's TV has suddenly lost all channels.

I've tried a reset to factory defaults and initially it found 40 Freeview channels (none of them the main ones ie no BBC, ITV, Ch4 or Ch5) via Aerial but they kept breaking up into rectangular blobs and reporting poor signal.

Running it again brought in 69 however attempting to access any failed with a 'poor signal quality' error.

Resetting again and it finds nothing. I've tried under Analogue Aerial but again no sign of anything.

Can anyone tell from the diagnostic images whether this is an issue with the aerial or something more serious with the onboard electronics?

Thank you kindly

Genius

Hi,

It can be an issue with the antenna, the antenna connection cable or worst case a defective tuner inside the TV.

First I would recommend to check the cable connection of the TV. If it's OK I would recommend to verify that the TV signal is OK by using a different TV (if possible) or by asking a neighbour (if available).

Cheers

Specialist

Hi,

I'd recommend tuning the channels once without the aerial and then once again with the aerial, this usually boosts the channel signal. However, if it is still the same, i would also recommend getting the aerial or aerial cable checked as well first by a specialist.
