Inputs Menu showing with Sky HD remote

I have a Sony KD55XE9005 TV which I bought new in 2017.

I have 2 HDMI connections - HDMI 2 to my Sky HD box, HDMI 3 to my Sony Sound Bar.

On the Sky HD remote I have tried all the various codes to set up the Sky remote to work with the TV including 2806, 0533, 0038, 0039, 0064 and the brand code of 0000. The 2806, 0533 and 0000 codes all work with just one exception - which is when I press the 'TV Guide' or 'Box Office' or 'Services' or 'Sky' buttons, the TV 'inputs' menu pops in from the left-hand side for about 5 seconds then goes away again.

Is there any way of stopping this from happening please?

It sounds like a dodgy Sky HD remote. I would make sure that no buttons are stuck, especially the TV Input button. Perhaps try a new Sky HD remote? There must be millions going cheap with introduction of Sky Q.

I can see they are ridiculously cheap even brand new.

I wanted to let you know your suggestion was exactly right.

I received a brand new Sky remote this morning - set it up as per the standard procedure with the 4 digit code for my Sony TV, and everything is working fine.

Big thank-you for suggesting this course of action as it would have taken me ages (and lots of wasted) time to arrive at this conclusion.
