A new Firmware updare v6.6520 is available which includes Android version 8 (Oreo) for ZD9.
I downloaded this version and tried to install manually through USB per the directions.
Once the USB is inserted, the TV realises that there is a new version and begins the installation process. It goes for about 5 minutes with the installation progress bar moving along.
Then it reboots and it comes back with a message that says the "Your TV is connected to internet" and TV works normally. But there isn't any message about update successfully or anything.
As soon as TV starts, it recognises that new update is in the USB stick and here we go again.
However, the update did not take and it still shows as its current software version.
I have tried different USB drives, formatted in FAT32, NTFS, exFAT and plug it in the different USB ports of the TV. It's always the same process and the same outcome.
Same reported for old updates too. https://community.sony.co.uk/t5/android-tv/firmware-update-to-v6-5830-in-zd9-is-not-getting-updated/...
Any help would be appreciated!
Cheers

Hi all,
Just quick update. Yesterday, I checked if any auto update available (checking in the settings menu). And surprisingly, it was there.
I have managed to update the telly firmware.
Thanks for your help.
Cheers
Hi apanveka,
I'll see if I can find this out for you. Maybe someone else in the community can help in the meantime.
Thanks,
Pascale
Hi there,
Have you tried disconnecting the TV from the internet before installing the update? I'm thinking the TV could be connecting to a different service that ends up interrupting the update somehow.

Hi apanveka,
Too late to the party I guess!
I'm glad all is good now
