Hi.
We have recently bought a Bravia 4K UR3 v9 (KE-75XH8096), which overall I'm very happy with. (Bluetooth headset pairing would have been good, but apparently it can't do that).
Anyway the question is does anyone know a fix for not being able to access the iPlayer app when the TV has started recording a Freeview program?
iPlayer works fine if the TV is not recording, also works fine if we start it and while watching it, the TV begins a scheduled recording.
The block only occurs if iPlayer is launched while recording has already commenced.
Apologies if this has already been covered. I've searched, but it's a bit of a complex search string.
Thanks in anticipation
Mike
Yea that's also true, but you didn't even have to reset it for it to go south. With the slightest update the catch up apps would completely stop and it will require a full retuning for the channels, and having an aerial constantly was the safest way. And even then, you could only view the catch up really, but none of the live programs, and you could never record the app itself.
True indeed. Though I think Sony and YouView were surprised by the number of people who wanted to run the TV without a terrestrial aerial, and have been scrambling since the initial release to make this practicable - as you say, it was quite impractical to do this at first.
But my comment about being able to operate the apps without an aerial, once an initial tuning had been done, was less about this being a sensible way to go on, and more about it demonstrating that after a one-time tuning, the apps didn’t need to access the tuners every time you used them.

@royabrown2, look at us agreeing on something! That's nice to see every once in a while 😂😂.
You will rarely see me post an agreement with you 😛
But that’s only because repetition is pointless; you can deduce a ‘yes, that’s pretty much what I would have said’ from my freely awarded kudos 😛
I get lost in my replies and I forget to mark kudos for others 😅, it's funny that I do the same across all social media platforms, never been a thumbs up guy XD.
