So another day, another BBC trial, are we missing out again?
https://www.a516digital.com/2018/11/bbc-annonuces-next-uhd-trial.html
with it being in 25fps we may get in this time. although only time will tell.
is shambolic though that the bbc is still only trialing 4k when you have nhk in japan going to 8k and been broadcasting 4k for years.
Well actually, just fired up iPlayer on my XE9005 and the test streams are live!
still nothing on mine unless its well hidden. running the beta app but no UHD content anywhere i can see. oh well guess my supposed top of the line sets just not good enough.

Are you on the XE9005? They should show up in the settings menu, in the beta player its the FA cup football test (which is at 50fps because you get the frame repeat if a/v sync is not set to ON) and in the standard player the Planet Eart II test which appears to be 25fps.
They both look really good and is some of the best 4K HDR my TV has so far displayed, blows Amazon Prime 4K/HDR picture quality out of the water (at least in the tests).
nope i have a XD9305. which is a 2016 set so im guessing i have sod all chance.
The FA Cup UHD trial works on my 2017 49XE8077.
I am pleased to report my KD-55XE9005 is now working perfectly with the iPlayer FA Cup Loop 🙂
No stuttering, buffering, or crashing out like before. Just solid, fantastic 50fps HDR video.
So looks like the BBC have finally gotten around to testing the Sony fix and have whitelisted the 2017 Android sets!
I have sent my report in to the BBC to let them know that it works well, so hopefully 2017 Android users can now get added permanently to the approved list of TVs!

Yeh its good news finally, out of interest do you use wifi or ethernet connection? Mine is hardwired to a FTTH connection yet I had a couple of buffer incidents with the FA Cup stream.
Another observation is my usual Cinema Pro / Home settings (AVforums) didn't look great for the football, but did for the Planet Earth II test. Flicked on Sport mode for the Football and it looked great.
I use powerline adapters - BT Mini Connector kit. One port to the BT Youview box, other to the Sony.
