Imaging Edge auto focus and focus control

Hi all,

I have just got a new a7RV.

When I tether to my laptop to use Imaging Edge it all works fine however, when I want the camera to focus on a particular part of the image, I have to select where I want it to focus and then click AF to get it to focus. Then once I'm happy it's in focus I press the camera icon to capture.

This ok but feels a bit clunky.

I expect the camera to automatically focus once I have moved the focus selection.

Is there a way to get the camera to focus automatically when I click a new subject or area in the frame? rather than have to do it manually each time?

I suggest you as to the link but I have no way of trying, but only if you have changed something in the Camera:

🤔 that’s the way all cameras work in real world, the same in tethering.

You can active prefocus if you want https://helpguide.sony.net/ilc/2230/v1/en/contents/TP0002911176.html
