Overexposed 4k video when played back

Playing back 4k video on my computer shows the footage overexposed unless I use Windows Media player or VLC Player or edit it with Sony Movie Studio Platinum 15.0

Is this normal?

What are you using to play it when it is overexposed?

I've found that too when I view video footage from my Xperia 1 on either my MacBook or iPad. I believe its something to do with HDR. Footage looks washed out on non HDR screens.

I found VLC player works. No more washed out video.
