So i'm having a weird touch screen problem:
Some places on the screen just don't register the left or right swiping motion. I can't even pickup the phone! When i want to type e.g. on messenger i can't type specific letters because the phone registers it as the 2 other letters left and right next to the desired letter. I tried hard resetting and safe mode. Disabled wake up on touch and gloves mode. What can i do to mend the situation?
Hi @Valhorg, sorry to hear about this.
Is there any change if you rotate the device to landscape mode instead of having it standing up in portrait mode?
The hard reset that you did, was that forcing a shut down or did you do a factory reset? If you forced a shut down, you can try performing a software repair using Xperia Companion to see if there is anything in the software that is the cause of this behaviour.
Remember to create a backup using Xperia Companion before you start with the repair as all data stored on the internal storage will be deleted.
Let me know how it goes!
If i rotate i cannot "click" or swipe in the same areas. The problem still persist in landscape but the buttons the problem suspends are different obviously.
I just forced the phone to turn off and turn on again.
I tried to make a save with the companion but it got stuck at the music section, i waited around 8-10 hours to finish. Didn't finish so i gave up on it. I did not do a factory reset since i need the phone numbers and all the programs that i signed in. If the problem still apply to the fresh factory reset then i won't be able to sign in to those apps again since i cannot type specific letters. Repairing with the companion is basically the same as the factory reset if im not wrong. Thanks for the answer!
