Xperia Z5 keeps losing mobile network connection.

Xperia Z5 keeps losing mobile network connection.

I have a Sony Xperia X5 and since the last major Android OS update, my phone loses all mobile signal and disconnects itself from the mobile network 4-6 times a day. I have to manually restart the device every time to get it working again for a short time and there is no readily obvious event or trigger that causes it to disconnect from the network. Once it disconnects, it will not automatically reconnect.

I have found other people with a simmilar problem and from their suggestions I have attempted the following:

1: Ensured the device is not on airplane mode.

2: Moved to different locations ( many ).

3: Replaced the sim card ( twice ).

4: Ensure mobile data is on and no data limit is enabled.

5: Restored to factory default.

6: Performed full system updates to latest OS version.

None of these have had any effect at all, unfortunately. I can't afford to have my phone just disconnect itself every few hours and be completely uncontactable until I notice and restart the phone. Any suggestions for fixing this?

Hi @SaltySpecula, I am sorry to hear about this Slightly_frowning_Face

The last thing I recommend you try is a software repair using Xperia Companion

If that doesn't resolve the issue then I recommend you contact your Local support team.

Hi Cameron!

I will try the software repair tonight, I need to be at home to back up my data before the repair wipes it. If it doesn't work, I will contact my local support team as suggested and post an update here. Thanks for your help and direction!

I'd go to a independent phone shop if your local support recommends a visit to the service centre going off experience & not just my opinion the Sony customer complaints what are easily accessible to read on trust pilot. You will have no end of woes you are better off taking it anywhere than the service centre.

@jackedoff,

I would highly advise against any third party repairs, especially where your handset is within the warranty period as they will generally void your warranty.

Also please keep in mind that this is an international forum and there are many authorised repair agents for Sony Mobile around the world. Your personal experience may not be reflective of the service someone else receives.

If you have an issue with the service you received from a repair agent, I recommend you contact your Local support team.

I have the exact same problem. Ever since I got the new update. I replaced the simple cards which worked temporarily (a day).

I' ve had the exact same problem with my Z2 for more than a year. Now my wife bought a X, and after 2 weeks she's seeing the same issues. No network. Reset is the only solution. Flight mode on and off does not solve it, nor is it possible to to find a network provider to choose.

Thank you very much for the solution. I had the same problem with my Xperia M2, and it was solved after the software repair. I did it a week ago and no problem so far. Also, I got a nice boost on battery life. Thanks again! 👍
