Won't connect to wifi

My wifi is working fine, I've other things that are connected to it so I know it works. However, on my phone it isn't connecting, I've tried restarting it and forgetting the wifi but nothing's working.

What is your wifi operation mode? 5Ghz or 2.4 Ghz. If your router supports dual band  try both 5 and 2.4 to see if you can connect.

Generally the 5 Ghz  mode is more stable because there are no much interference

Are you having trouble connecting to other routers?

Can you tell me the security settings and wifi setting of the router (Security type, if it is set as b,g,n/ b,g)?

Also check the routers DHCP server to see if you ran out of IP addresses (increase the range of IP)

Is it displaying an error while you try to connect or simply hangs and doesn't connect?

It tells me that it can't authorise it???
