As the title explains, I'm posting here because currently, there is no way to manually change the wifi frequency on the xperia xz premium. This is extremely frustrating, because the phone can't ever seem to decide which one it wants to use, and it constantly switches between 2.4 and 5ghz.
This doesn't sound like it'd be that big of a deal at first, except any time you want to play any sort of live game, the phone disconnects briefly during the switch, and it usually boots you from whatever game you're playing.
The worst part of this is that this is a feature in stock android! You actually had to go out of your way to REMOVE features from the software you put on your phones! Why any manufacturer would do this is beyond me.
I've seen a few responses here that suggest just broadcasting separate networks for the 2 different frequencies. To that I say, that's the stupidest response you could possibly give to such obvious mediocrity. 1) I don't always have admin access to every network I'm connected to, and 2) You shouldn't rely on your customers having to change their network setup just so they can use your device. To top it all off, Sony has made it practically impossible to install a custom rom without losing practically all camera functionality. So now I have to choose between using the camera on my $700 smart phone, or being able to stay connected to wifi.
Not only this, but Sony seems to be completely putting their head in the sand when it comes to fixing any sort of bugs in their software. Please please please. Either fix the bugs in your software or allow me to fix them myself with a custom rom without losing major functionality. This is getting ridiculous.
