Sony xz headphone problem

Had my xz for 1 month and suddenly the headphones have stopped working. When I plug them in the music keeps coming from the phone instead of the headset. The phone doesn't seem to recognise the headset. Any ideas why

You've probably got a busted headphone jack. Take it to the store you bought it from, and tell them to listen to music using headphones. Then see what they say

i clean the headphone jack with a toothpick, and took a dusty cotton ball out, like clothing pilling

and fixed!  not very long time ago

Yes! Try cleaning jack with toothpick. Worked for me 👊🏾
