Does anyone know what improvements it brings?

I listen to the sound before and after the update but my results where inconclusive I guess I need to find another music for testing - and I ordered a sound meter so I can be more sure in the future. 

Battery life was worse after the update but I had much background stuff running so that might be the reason, way too early to tell.

that's nothing unusual, updating requires quite a lot of copying files, rebuilding cache and so on.

in a similar vein, first boot after the update usually is more demanding, only subsequent charges will help determine whether battery life has changed in any meaningful way.

Its not only a security update. It has some tips like kunikross says. I determined that my phone stars constantly  slower than before.

I can't see your picture because it hasn't been approved by a moderator yet, but if you mean the tips about how to take better photos, they're sent through the Xperia Lounge app, so I'm not sure if it's in any way related to the update. although I only got them after updating too
