My first Sony Android phone | CONS

All points are made in my point of view. I hope this message would reach to Sony. 

After a very bold decision I bought Sony Xperia xz premium last week. I have never used Sony android phone so I was quite hesitated to buy how the features will be and how about the unquie features like other mobiles?

I am using the phone for a week. My impression is very bad. Very good mobile with nothing. Before I was using s6 edge plus and LG v20. I don't wanna compare with other vendors because they have their uniqueness and I don't wanna talk about what are the all good things which I like in this mobile because it is not gonna satsify me.

1. Fingerprint scanner - Perfect placement and no use. you are making into a stone age again. It's not a perfect one. I have added 5 fingers. But most of the time it doesn't properly  detect and which in turn make me to unlock my phone in alternative way by entering my password. I have to clean my finger and scanner with cloth. Eventhough my fingers are clean. This is really bad.

2. UI design - UI design is very clear but not catchy. Then what's the use of 4k display and trilumious display and all. It needs entire revamp.

3. Camera UI - it doesn't look good need lots of improvement.

4. WiFi is not getting signal after sometime so I have to manually turn off and turn it back again to make it work. I don't know is a default problem in xz premium and any software update is coming or not.

5. Speakers - what's happening? It has front facing speaker but it doesn't loud. It's very poor. 

I am using Sony products in TV, Headphone, Power bank and Laptops. Expect mobile other products are good. Sony mobile division needs to focus on mobile division and provide what customers need and make it unique compare to other vendors. Peace ✌

fingerprint scanner - it's my second phone with one but on my previous phone (Xperia X) I had to delete the fingerprint and set it up several times before I finally got it right. if you're using a case, make sure to set it up with the case on (especially if it wraps around the phone's side bezel with an opening for the sensor).

UI - Sony tends to stick to stock Android most of the time. that way it's easier to push out new updates (compared to heavier skins like the one used by Samsung for example, which modifies the look and functionality of pretty much every element), and in my opinion is unobtrusive so that it doesn't distract you from the content.

WiFi - I haven't noticed that issue, the only time I lost connection on my phone it was the router's fault, as my laptop connected to the network lost the connection too. you might want to try contacting your local support about it.

camera UI - just curious, what don't you like about it? it's my 3rd Sony phone so I'm used to the interface, but I'm wondering what's your opinion as someone coming from other OEMs' smartphones.

speakers' volume - I've seen some people here complaining about speakers being too quiet, but I really can't say that about mine. again, maybe you should try contacting local support about it to see if they consider it a defective unit and get you a replacement.

Fingerprint scanner - I dont use any case in phone as of now. Let me try to delete the finger print and add it again. Will see whether it resolve my problem.

UI - Yes, I accept. People prefer performance may chose clean UI but as per my understanding most common man thinks UI should be catchy right and moreover display looks perfect so catch UI will make more eye catchier for user. Thats my view.

WIFI - Yes, I am facing the issue for last three days. Intially I thought it would be problem with my router but my laptops and ipad works fine and I face the problem only in my phone. I am not sure if I get the problem keep on, I have to do factory reset and try it again.

Camera UI - As I said I was using S6 edge plus mobile previously, camer UI is good compare to Sony. Because they have included a crisp add on features by swiping it from left and other default features as add on.

Speaker volume - let me check with my service center.

I agree with you, the WiFi and Speakers loudness need tweaking.

Your experience with the finger print sensor seems a bit strange I had only 2 times so far it did not register my finger right away - I had the Xperia XZ previously and there it worked noticeable worse (I guess 80-90% of the time) 

Maybe registering your prints once more helps. 

WiFi some people seem to have problems,  there are a couple of reports here in the Forum.

 Agree with speakers and wifi. And maybe its only me, but the 4k video looks like regular video on s8. Am i wrong?
