Missing SD Card tray

Missing SD Card tray

My XZ Premium arrived today, I got a good price from Amazon Warehouse during Prime Day.

But, annoyingly, the SD Card tray is missing (specifically the tray that combines as the edge of the handset - I have the smaller SIM tray). Any ideas where I can get one?

I'm waiting to hear back from Sony's service partner in the UK. Amazon can only help as far as refunding me for the phone, but I want to keep it for the good price I paid.

Thanks, Paul

Hi @Paul38

Welcome to the community!

Sorry to hear about that, definitely not a part you want missing from your new handset!

Contacting Local support directly is the best bet here, they can likely organize something for you. Sounds like you have done that already but maybe give them a call if you can for a quicker response :smileysmileywink:

Good luck!

You'd have thought this would be quick and easy fix and a Customer Service win.

No, Sony's UK service partner can't provide me with a replacement (that I'd be happy to pay for), and I have to send it in for a chargeable repair, risking the pitfalls of sending through the mail, and unnecessarily so - I just need the part!

Looks like I'll be getting a refund on this phone and sticking with Samsung.

did you know that the tray was going to be missing when you bought the phone? if not you probably should be able to demand a replacement from Amazon.

Agree with this, call up amazon, for prime members they offer a next day replacement service and in some instances you return the faulty device after receiving the replacement.

I did this on a £1800 drone after calling customer services.

Worth telling them that you can see there is stock of warehouse discounted units and there was no mention of missing tray on description, as can happen on warehouse returned stock but should be listed

Thanks guys.

Amazon Warehouse items are generally one-offs, so if there's a problem the best they can generally do is refund you - it's not like buying new and getting them to send a replacement.

The good news is that another XZ Premium was available today on the Warehouse site, and Amazon have effectively allowed me to buy that with the same discount that I received on Prime Day.

So things are looking up, but I am disappointed that Sony couldn't do more to efficiently supply the small missing part.

Can't wait to get this phone fired-up!

Looking forward to returning to this forum with more positive topics!
