Hello, i just bought new Xperia XZ, updated to Nougat version (7.1.1). But there is one problem with Youtube App. Every time I set a resolution of the video to 1080p, the next video will always play in 480p, so I need every video set manually to 1080p, why is this happening? On Galaxy Note 4 works Youtube app perfectly, every video is played at best possible resolution...
Solved! Go to Solution.
It's patently a You Tube issue and nothing to do with your phone. It also happens to my friend with his Moto. Leave a review of the app on the Play Store and send the developers a message via the feedback option in the app settings menu.
Hi @Eversman57,
Are you watching using Mobile Data or WiFi when it does this?
If you go to the Youtube settings, check if "Limit mobile data usage" is enabled?"
Edit: I have just been testing this, and it does indeed default to 480p always, and you have to manually change it to HD. Seems to be a quirk of the Youtube app on Xperia devices.
Both, wifi and mobile data, its still resetting resolution
