Audio seetings have no effect (xz premium)

I waited for this phone over few months only due to its audio. I had been using sony mp3 players high end. So wanted to use the phone which has similar technology.

I tried equalizer, enabled/disable DSEE HX and other options. But the sound didn't change at all as if all these options not there at all. I have Sony XBA-H3 earphone.

Can somebody tell me whether it's a phone fault and something I am missing?

Hi, what apps are you using when audio effects are not working?

Had a chat with online support. He recommended to turn the phone to safe mode and try settings. I tried and it worked.  

Not really sure why it didn't work in normal mode as I haven't really installed any apps except basics like fb whats app since I received this phone 24 hrs ago.

What kind of audio file were you playing?

Just normal mp3 songs and samples came with the phone.

It doesn't work for streaming though  like di.fm Spotify or youtube Very disappointing

As with all mobiles, it's up to the app developer if they choose to allow system audio enhancements through the app.

Spotify did previously with xz so it may just be a matter of time for them to update

Thanks, veridis. I thought it just sound output get enhanced regardless how you play. Didn't know it depends on apps.
