What do you mean by "go to call forwarding"?
According to waht I read, Xperia XZ firmware does not provide access to Voicemail and Call Forwarding seetings from "Settings > Call". Apparently these entries were deliberately removed by Sony for some reason.
Do you know any other way to access these settings?
I wonder if this is a regional issue, http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/xperiaxz/userguide/Voicemail/ you should have the option, which build number and country is your phone from?

The build number is 39.0.A.1.250
This is F8332 (dual SIM) bought from Amazon. I don't know what country it is from. How do I figure this out?
Out of the box it was originally set up for Chinese keyboard, I believe. Amazon reviews say that the phone is shipped from Taiwan.
You can install Xperifirm on your computer to figure it out

Done. According to Xperifirm firmware regions are distinguished by the suffix like "R11B", "R4B" etc.
But could you please tell me where do I find this regional suffix in my phone? I looked through the menus and I can't see it anywhwere.

Thank you.
According to Mine is R6B - Hong Kong, CIS RU/UA/KZ/BY or Saudi Arabia, according to XperiFirm.
"Customization" is 1305-2218, but I don't see such entry in XperiFirm.

Are you are referring to the "Software Info" screen?
I just took a screenshot, but I can't post it here directly - the forum gives me an "Upload failed" error. So, here it is
