Brand new Xperia Z3C.
Trying to use the Wireless Media Transfer option:
To pair, I follow the instructions given in every other online video/forum/how-to by doing:
Any help/suggestion would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Hi,
Just want to share that I have the exact same problem. Brand new Xperia Z3C. Problem description is exactly the same, except my computer is a laptop (Windows 7) using WiFi. Pairing seems to work, but connection fails.
I have actually tried parining and connecting with the computer on either WiFi or wired LAN connection with the same disappointing result. To add to my confusion, it almost worked once. On that attempt I had done the pairing with wired LAN connection, then disconnected the wired LAN and re-connected on WiFi. After that connection was established, but broke down again after two minutes and wouldn't come back up again.
I have the latest version of PC Companion. Phone is fully updated.
There seems to be three ways to initiate pairing and I have tried them all without success:
1. Initiated from PC Companion.
2. Initiated from phone ("Settings > Xperia(TM) Connectivity > USB Connectivity")
3. Initiated from Windows explorer (connect USB cable and select "set up network" in auto play dialog.
Pairing seems to work, but still no connection.
I have already tried to enable UPnP in all my network equipment and disabled the software firewall on my computer without any improvement of the situation.
Any advice? Oh, and please don't suggest wiping the phone, re-installing Windows or anything equally silly. 😉
Cheers,
Erik
Well since this post isn't getting any traction, I had to find an alternative to Sony's mediocre wireless media transfer file management option.
I found the following application that does everything Sony's wireless manager could do, more reliably and with a better UI. Look for "AirDroid" on the google play store and you will get amazing wireless media transfer capabilities, including file management.
i have same problem too, my xperia z3 compact already paired to my windows 8.1 laptop but fail to connect . hope can get solution for it.
Hi.
I managed to pair my Xperia Z3C (23.1.A.0.726) with Vaio laptop pc (Windows 7 x64) for wireless media transfer.
I also saw buble saying installing drivers for xperia Z3C.
Sony PC Companion is installed.
But Iam unable to connect mentioned devices together.
I tried different two wifi networks.
I tried different method of pairing (from phone, from Sony PC companion)
I tried to turn off firewall on laptop
I tried to search laptop logs logs for errors
None of which helped.
Please advice next steps to make it work.
Thanks.
p.s. There is a thread http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z3-Compact/Wireless-Media-Transfer-Pairing-done-but-connection-... with no solution.
I recommend that you first restart the phone, PC and your router if you haven't tried that.
If this doesn't help i recommend that you make sure that your router has the latest firmware and that UPnP is enabled in it.
If you are still unable to connect, do you have access to another PC or another phone that you could test to see if it's the phone or PC causing this?
Hello.
Sorry for writing after such a time.
I chcecked my wireless router and upnp option was unchecked.
When I checked it wireless link started to work!
Thank you!
Glad to hear that it works now
