Will Xperia X Compact be released in Australia?

That's really all I want to know, other than if I imported it from the States or something, would it work in Australia.

I have not seen any information on the Australian site and read somewhere that Sony didn't have any information with regards to release dates in Australia, so I don't know if it means it's not coming, or just not yet.

If anyone has any information that I may have missed, please let me know. Thanks

I wouldn't recommend importing. If you run in to Firmware problems, you'll need to do it solo, because you probably won't get pushed the over the air updates from Telstra/Optus/Voda.

It's not so bad as it used to be though. You'd only probably start running in to problems if you were wanting faster speeds.

The later Australia gets it the better IMO, even if I'm not really interested in getting a new phone, I just think that if it's delayed, then it is possible it could ship with updated firmware that could fix a few problems that always pop up on global launches.

Unfortunately it's hard for me to answer your question as launchplans differ between markets. I'd recommend contacting your Local support in order to find out if it is planned to release the X Compact in your market.

I don't mind if I don't get the OTA updates, I can always use the Xperia Companion thing - minor inconveniences

However, would do you mean by faster speeds?

I'll see how it goes nonetheless, see if Australia gets any mention, but if I do need to import, may need to do it from Europe as America won't have fingerprint sensor for some odd reasoning...
