Voicemail alerts when getting text

Phone updated to marshmallow last night Now when getting text (Sms)as well as text alert I get voicemail ➿ notification.Ive looked at settings and contacted vidafone who turned voicemail off.All to no avail.please help

That's a new one, have you checked your voicemail, perhaps you have some voicemails that you haven't checked.

Yes. All clear.i checked when it first happened.ironically as update made Vodafone think id changed my sim and they sent settings. I checked settinhs and contacted Vodafone who wiped my voicemail settings completely it still happened so I had to switch back on and reset.

That's odd but contact Vodafone regarding this if you still experience it, keep us updated.

I did,but will try again really annoying.

Got back to Vodafone who inactivated /refreshed voicemail and wiped settings. Left it over 6 hours as advised. Mean while I continued to get both notifications. Now reactivated Voicemail but no further forward. Be interesting to see what Sony say tomorrow.

Hi Finally got reply on chat

Sorted by repairing the software on the handset via PC Companion. after trying it in safe mode first which didnt work.
