very bad quality picture when using bbc iplayer

I have only had the phone for two days so may be i am doing something wrong. It plays the preloaded films perfectly. But when i go to the iplayer app or catch up tv the picture quality is very very bad. My old phone was perfect am i doing something wrong.

I do have it set too highest. Quality. But still the same. Un watchable.
