Touchscreen problem after 5.1.1 update?

I updated my Z3 Dual to 5.1.1 Build 23.4.A.1.200 (Hong Kong) a few days ago.  I found that my touchscreen has some "dead zones" when playing games or typing on the keyboard, mainly a vertical line about 2cm from the left of the screen and also a bit on the lower right.

I wonder if this is software related?  I have already tested the touchscreen using YAMTT.

Keep us updated, if the problem was not solved then it might suggest a hardware issue, may be in the digitizer. If that's the issue you'll need to contact your Local support and get the device inspected by a professional.

@xavinux If I'm running Windows 10 (64-bit), do I still need to run PC Companion in compatibility mode? Thanks!

I went ahead and used PC Companion to repair my phone, but the problem is still there.  Looks like I have to find a technician to fix it.  I just wonder why this seemingly physical problem appears just after I updated to 5.1.1 though.

Hi @Freelancer

Which version of Android OS was your device running before the update to 5.1.1 ?

I actually forgot about that ... 5.1? 5.0x?

Anyway, I went ahead and paid visit to a mobile repair shop (not a Sony official one as I found that my warranty is invalid due to not having bought the phone from an "Authorized" dealer), and he replaced my touchscreen at a cost of about US$120.  But he did say there is a small chance that a software update can "damage" the touchscreen if the program is faulty.

Just now I got a new android update notification from Sony ... I'm holding off for this one for now.

 Hi @Freelancer

You can try to re-install Lollipop using Flashtool (you don´t need to open your bootloader or root your device to do this) as explained hereYou won't lose data if you unclick wipe data in Flashtool, but it is recommended to wipe everything when flashing Roms. You can run a backup pf your device before flashing the device as explained here. XperiFirm is now included in the last version of Flashtool. I´d give it another chance before replacing the touchscreen. I´m at disposal for any question.

Hi, I have the same problem with the same phone...tried all the stepps ...and nothing. I am sure the problem is with this software update and hope for a marshmellow update as soon as possible. But not great for Sony ...as this is my first Sony phone after years with several  Samsung models... But if you find a solution, pls tell me.
