Sony z1 compact camera freeze

When i am taking a photo the camera just freezes. When i lock my phone and unlock it the photo seems not to be saved.

@Martin82 omg that actually worked for me. I was having front (and only front) camera issues for days, and its working now. Well not rly issue, i was completely unable to use the front camera. It just wouldnt display or take a picture, just black screen. Back camera working with no issues

I have the same issue on 2 x Z1 handsets. I have reported to Sony UK and one of the support analyists had seen the issue himself. Sony are investigating my case.

I have Z1 compact with latest 4.4.4. and my camera is also freezing during the shot.

I am sick and tired with Sony. This phone was expensive, and Sony told us "the best of Sony".

20.7 PM camera is terrible, and camera is freezing. Where is the best of Sony.

And app Album is also ...... Samsung, LG, .... everybody has a choise to do directly into their home Album app to create folders, New albums,  but just Sony has only their timeshift sorting. So whey you have 1000 pictures, it is terrible to use and found picture what you want.

I have a similar issue with my Z1 compact.

I have already had it for warranty service once, they see the issue but can do little... This is a software issue either from sony or the android build.

My camera freezes or I get camera unavailible. **bleep** because I use the camera frequently via work.

I thik it's a problem of temporary memory. I use an app for the memory cleaning as "clean master" and when i've problems with camera the cleaning solve my problems. When it happens too much i prefer to delete all the camera files of any camera app. 

In this way problems now are rare. I will try also the flashlight disinstallation, but isn't there a flashlight of default?

Why doesn't sony release a firmware update targeting this an fixes it for gud. Ruining an otherwise great device. Temp solutions are restarting, changing camera mode from say auto to manual and back. Definitely a software issue. kindly come down from your trinitron heyday hubris.

I have the same problem. This only occurs when using the back camera. The phone is unusable for taking photos.

Have exactly same problem with the z1 camera, I take a picture it freezes until I lock and unlock my phone then it seems to work but the picture dosent save. Did a little search about it and apparently the new updates are too much to handle, it's like installing fake 'Windows' on to your PC (we need standard software)... But I'm not exactly sure like a said it's a research, I'll wait for the new Sony xperia update see what they say and done.
