SGP511 mkv playback issue

Hi, 

I bought xperia z2 tablet and I love it.

Unfortunately I can't use the most important feature for me - video playback.

I tried to watch several mkv movies / tv series and it doesn't work on xperia z2 tablet.

Fortunately for me I have Nexus 5 which plays all files I tried on xperia.

I tried several players on xperia - mxplayer, vlc, moboplayer and any other c*rap from play store. It did play extracted mp4 file from mkv.

I tried several conversions using vlc - mp4 + mp3 sound, mp4 + mp3g, mp4 + wav.

It doesn't do the job.

Personally I love xperia z2 tablet. If I will not find solution to this issue I will return it because it doesn't do the main function for me. (god bless Amazon and their return policy).

What else can I check before I send it back?

Use MXplayer from the play store - Works flawlessly and is probably what most owners use

As I wrote before i tried several players and it is not working.

Same files can be played on my nexus 5 without any problems. I checked with my colleague on iPad and he can play same videos with VLC without issue.

Don't know why it's not working as they work fine on mine check the files transfered correctly

What if you record a video using the camera in your tablet and then convert it to mkv using http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/? Does that play?
