Can you try holding volume up and power button for ten seconds or until it vibrates 3 times.
If no joy
Can you press the OFF button in the sim port for three seconds and see if it boots

It sounds like some kind of hardware fault, I would recommend contacting your local support for evaluation of the device.

I am going to send it to Sony, surely to God they can fix it for me

I would imagine they are most likely to be able to.
Keep us updated with how it goes

Hi @Joanne1, I am very sorry to hear about that. Slightly_frowning_Face

I agree with the suggestion posted by @Viridis in this case, but prior to having it sent to service it would be a good idea to try performing a software repair using Xperia Companion just to rule out the software as the cause.

Keep us updated!

Has anybody had any problems in getting an update or updates from Sony? I'm thinking maybe it's something unfixable as surely somebody would have contacted me with repair details by now, phone been with them since 1 November, asked for update get a standard response "it is with engineer" I just want to know it can be fixed

As in updates, are you referring to information from the service center? I'm afraid service routines, local consumer laws and warranty terms vary on a market-to-market basis. It would be wise to get in touch with your Local support in order to be assisted and get informed regarding your case.
