Screen display problem

I've had my phone for less than 3 weeks, have the latest KitKat 4.4.4 software installed.  This evening whilst browsing on Facebook verttical blue lines appeared on the screen.  the lines seem to come from icons/text.  If I use an app with a light coloured background the screen has a patchy pink tinge.  Is this a software problem or hardware?  Graphics card maybe?
