Scratch lens

I saw something on my lens and thought it was just a finger print and I followed the steps on how to clean a lens with a cloth on 1 of these forums post. But the len's scratch got worse! Will it affect photos that I will take? Any suggestions on this problem? Sorry for asking too much. Thank you! Here's a sample photo of my lens.

It's hard to say, take some pictures and inspect the photos to see if it noticeable.
