Rooting Xperia Z1

Hi,

I was just thinking if i should root my xperia Z1. It's running on android 4.4.4(14.4.A.0.108). Will it affect the device performance in any way.Is it safe to do so?I wanna hear the answer from an official sony tech support guy.Thanx in advance!
